Inferna is a sandbox-oriented fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by the German company Inferna Limited and originally planned for release on Steam in 2019. A mobile version, titled Inferna Mobile, is in development and scheduled for release in 2020. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions, simply titled Inferna, will also be released in 2020. The game is free-to-play on all platforms.

Gameplay

Inferna allows players to create characters from a combination of four races: magician, warrior, assassin, or semi-demon.

The player's chosen race determines their available skills. Each race possesses unique skills. Skills can be upgraded through leveling and other means.

Experience points are earned by killing enemies and completing missions from NPCs. Players can also gather groups of creatures and simultaneously attack them with basic attacks and skills, while the creatures simultaneously attack the player.

Inferna features its own in-game currency, used to purchase items from various NPCs. Players can trade this currency with other players or use it to run their own shops. Players can also form guilds and engage in guild wars.

Setting

Inferna is set in a high fantasy world centered on the conflict between two rival nations, Caratas and Jerro.

Long ago, the four major regions—Esford, Orin, Caratas, and Jerro—united to form the kingdom of Pangäus. This union was shattered during the Night of Infernumantis. That night, the earth fractured, and aggressive creatures emerged, attacking the people of Pangäus.

Following this event, the regions of Orin and Esford vanished. The kingdom of Pangäus splintered into the warring nations of Caratas and Jerro, which remain in conflict today.
