Infidel is an Action/Adventure Film directed by Cyrus Nowrasteh and starring Jim Caviezel and Claudia Karvan. This is the second film Nowrasteh directs Jim Caviezel. This is the second film which Nowrasteh[1] directs Jim Caviezel. The first film was released 12 years earlier and was entitled The Stoning of Soraya M. (2008). It was a box office failure, only grossing $637,421 domestically with a $115,053 opening weekend in 27 theaters.[2] Both films deal with corruption in the Middle East, and, more specifically, in Iran and the Iranian regime. Moreover, in both films Jim Caviezel plays a journalist whose rights are infringed upon and violated by the Iranian antagonists.[3]
It had a limited release in November of 2019,[4] after it was completed in 2019. It was filmed in Jordan[5] in 2018 and has a release date of September 11th, 2020.[6]
Synopsis[edit]
An outspoken American journalist, played by Jim Caviezel, is kidnapped by members of the Iranian regime while he is in Cairo, Egypt making speeches.[7][8] He is then taken to the Middle East and put on trial for erroneous and phony spying charges.[9] His wife (Claudia Karvan), a State Department official, tries to use her influence to get the American government involved.[10] She wants the US government to get her husband back. However, she soon realizes that the American government will not get involved.[11] So, she is forced to go to the Middle East to search for him herself.[6]

The film was picked up by Cloudburst Entertainment and has a release date set for September 11th, 2020.[13][14][15] It will also be distibuted by D'Souza Meida.
