Innoosy
Innoosy
Innoosy is a method which combines TRIZ and Design Thinking into one. The method is connected to the market based on customer feedback. It has been referenced by Luxembourg Government institution Luxinnovation. It is used by many pharmaceutical and consulting companies.
It proposes operators like 8 TRIZ principles, 3 Design Thinking operators and many others like Sustainability and resource savings, Timing and operations, Value, History, Biodesign, and Internet enhancements.
Situation
TRIZ is a method for experts. Design Thinking is easy to implement but lacks any ideation methodology.
Complexity
Leading innovation processes across teams and organisations is a challenge.
Innoosy method proposal
It has been built for non-TRIZ experts in brainstorming sessions. It uses prepared sentences to increase the number of ideas. Those sentences are built using a subset of TRIZ principles.
The ideas curation is simplified using an ideas class evaluator. The method has five main steps.
Step 1 : Customer feedbacks
The idea is to follow the Design Thinking empathy step. Innoosy adds a recording of the contact, context and a domain to classify feedbacks.
Step 2 : Experience analysis
Feedbacks are analysed on the following dimensions:
- Importance for the contact
- the feedback type, for example, is it a dream or a fear?
- classify it whether it is a positive or negative experience
Step 3 : Customer Challenges
Based on all feedbacks, a customer challenge to be solved is proposed.
Objectives and key success factors are set. Constraints are enumerated.
Step 4 : Ideas Generations
The brainstorming session is prepared by enumerating elements of the challenge to be solved, resources, features, and operations. The customer segment is proposed to give the flavour to the session. The brainstorm session uses sentences generated based on :
- Simplification of TRIZ using segmentation, taking out, local quality, asymmetry, merge, universality, self-service, and cheap and short-lived objects.
- Design principles like how to improve signifiers, improve affordances and the conceptual model. Those concepts are taught by Professor Don Norman.[1]
- Sustainability and resource savings with operation benefit, reuse, supplied, self-generation
- Other sources of ideas like History, Biodesign, Find new usages
- Virtual extensions, internet platform, logical model, inter-relation with other systems
Step 5 : Curate Ideas
Each idea gets a calculated ideas class. Based on the class, the project management office can supply their portfolio of projects with innovative projects to be evaluated with a business case.
