The underlying spirit of Innovision was "to promote technological innovations and scientific thinking" . The edition of 2006 had entrepreneurs of NIT Rourkela getting involved and conducting many substantial activities. It had events ranging from robotics to a management event like Sharewars. Individual departments also conducted their own events like paper presentation, programming contests etc. A seminar was also held by the Hacking Guru – Ankit Fadia which became the main attraction of the fest that year.[3] In 2008, the Mathematics Club of NIT-Rourkela, Axiom was set-up, which organized many school level quizzes. The year 2009 welcomed the then chief managers and additional managers of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) as honourable guests for promoting the core courses through lectures. In the year 2010, Confluence was a huge success with a large number of events which attracted participants from all over India. A seminar on present market and opportunities in the software sector was presented by Ms. Meher Afroz from Microsoft. Workshops on MAYA and aero-modelling were very successful and helped the participants gain knowledge and experience from leaders in the respective sectors.[4]
