InstaSafe is a cloud based information security company that provides internet security, web security, and firewalls, by employing Zero Trust Network Access as a Service offerings, and allowing for granular access control in cloud environments, through Privileged Access Management systems.[1] In addition, InstaSafe provides vulnerability coordination and bug bounty services that leverage crowdsourcing to connect business organisations and security researchers. InstaSafe uses Software Defined Perimeters to provide a cloud based approach to security as a service.

History[edit]

The company was founded in 2012 by Sandip Panda, former Country Sales Manager at Symantec and a serial entrepreneur, Prashanth Guruswamy, and Biju George. InstaSafe was one of the first few companies to delve into the conceptions of Zero Trust Security. In 2018, InstaSafe was named among the fastest-growing technology companies in India by Deloitte.[2] InstaSafe has received a seed funding of $2.2 million in its first round.[3] InstaSafe has also been a part of the Microsoft Ventures and NetApp Excellerator programs.[4]

InstaSafe Secure Access[edit]

InstaSafe's primary offering, InstaSafe Secure Access, is a cloud based securiy solution that leverages the principles of Software Defined Perimeters to secure endpoints. Operating on a ‘zero trust’ model, InstaSafe's dynamic and context-dependent trust validation system seeks to restrict access to resources based on credential policy thresholds. The SDP architecture further expands upon the “need to know” security model, providing additional layers of security like the Mutual Transport Layer Security. By extending protection beyond traditional perimeters with a hardware free configuration, ISA tries to ensure that both the device and the user are able to access only what they are authorized to access. Further, SDPs endeavor to secure all critical resources by separating access control and data planes, thus rendering them 'invisible' to external unauthorized users.

SafeHats Managed Bug Bounty[edit]

SafeHats is a vulnerability coordination and managed bug bounty program which is used by organisations to connect with security researchers. It is one of the first few managed bug bounty programs in India, which leverages crowdsourcing for vulnerability assessment and penetration testing. As of 2020, SafeHats has a pool of more than 2500 security researchers.

Location[edit]

InstaSafe operates out of its headquarters in Bangalore, India. It also has offices in Mumbai, India, Caifornia, USA, and Urbar, Germany.
