Instanza is an American Internet company that designs, develops, markets and operates social-based mobile applications. The company was founded in 2011[1] and is currently headquartered in San Francisco, California. Instanza's flagship product is Coco, a mobile messenger that provides communication features such as hold-to-talk voice messaging, text messaging, group messaging, photo sharing as well as other functions.[2] Social networking services are also built into the app through the form of plug-ins such as Questions, Chat Rooms, Winks, Shake Shake, and Look Around.

History

Instanza was started in 2011 by several students from Harvard[3] with a shared vision for the future of communication. Studying abroad, the creators found it difficult to stay in touch with friends and families who lived many miles away. They came up with a solution to create an application that allowed them to send personalized and texturized voice messages without the inconvenience of coordinating Skype calls across time zones.

Coco

Coco is a social smartphone communication application for sharing voice messages, texts, and pictures, first released in 2011. The app is available on iOS and Android platforms through the App Store and Google Play. It is currently available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Arabic.

Coco provides communication features such as hold-to-talk voice messaging, text messaging, group messaging, photo sharing as well as other functions. Social networking services are also built into the app through the form of plug-ins such as Questions, Chat Rooms, Winks, Shake Shake, and Look Around.[4] Users can register for an account using their smartphone numbers and Facebook, and can add friends by syncing their phone book contacts, scanning QR codes, sending SMSs, emails, Facebook and Twitter invites.
