Insyde (artist)
Stephen Emrich (born July 5, 2001), known by his stage name Insyde, is an American athlete and songwriter. He first became popular as a user on SoundCloud, a platform known for causing the fame of huge names in the industry such as Post Malone, Juice WRLD, and others. His debut single became one of the top songs on the platform for a short period of time.[1]
He is also known for his anti-suicide activism and his goals to bring awareness to autism.[2][1]
Personal life
As a child, Emrich was widely considered to have had a difficult childhood. He was in foster care while still a young child. He also was born with Asperger syndrome, which is on the Autism spectrum. He was officially diagnosed with the disorder at the age of 6.[1]
Emrich is an avid Cross country enthusiast, running in many events in high school.[3][4][5] He also did rowing competitively in high school,[6][7] ranking in the top 25 in the United States for his lightweight 4.[8][9]
Career
Emrich released his debut single, Sometimes, under the stage name Insyde on January 22, 2019, which went viral on the sound-sharing app SoundCloud.[1][10]
After the success of his single, Insyde signed a distribution deal with AWAL, a major independent label who distributes music for the likes of Lauv, FINNEAS, and deadmau5.[11]
On August 2, 2019, Insyde released Something Real, featuring fellow musicians Hennest and Tot.[12][10]
Alone was released on October 11, marking Insyde's second collaboration with Hennest.[13]
