Isaac Du Toit is a New Zealand children's book author who appreciates 17th and 18th-century history. [1] He is known for his A Children's Guide To Splendour, which is a book about an exhibition that used to be at Te Papa [2] (the National Museum of New Zealand). [3] The guide contains information relating to life in Europe during the 16th to 18th centuries. [4]
Most recently, Isaac has written A Children's Guide to Lisa Walker, a book about Lisa Walker's work. [5] Lisa Walker is a New Zealand jeweller; Lisa Walker's work "questions conventional concepts about jewellery's beauty and wearability." The book unpacks Lisa's jewellery for a young audience. Greenwood Manor is another book Isaac has recently written. This book is a fictional work based around the Greenwood Portraits, a collection of portraits from the National Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa. [6]
Museums
In 2016, Isaac co-founded The Pukerua Bay School Museum, one of Aotearoa New Zealand's newest museums. [7] Isaac and his friends established the museum in 2016. [8] They conceived the idea while walking along their school field. [9] They subsequently presented at MA17, the Museums Aotearoa conference.
