The Israeli Primate Sanctuary is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1996 in order to rescue and rehabilitate non-human primates from animal testing or the exotic pet trade[1]. In addition, starting in 2013, hundreds of monkeys were moved to the sanctuary from a former breeding farm for laboratory primates. These monkeys made the sanctuary the largest of it's kind in the world. [2]
In addition to the primates, the sanctuary is also home to a handful of other animals, namely: muscovy ducks, goats, peafowl, emu, and feral cats.
