The Italian Campaign of 1796-1797 was the series of military operations led by Napoleon Bonaparte at the head of the Army of Italy during the War of the First Coalition. It was Bonaparte's first position as commander-in-chief of a full army.[1], and brought him significant fame throughout Europe[2]
