Italy–Montenegro relations

Italy–Montenegro relations are foreign relations between Italy and Montenegro. Italy recognized Montenegro’s independence on June 14, 2006. Both countries established diplomatic relations on the same day. Italy has an embassy in Podgorica.[1] Montenegro has an embassy in Rome.[2]
Both countries are full members of the Union for the Mediterranean and of Council of Europe.
