Australia officially recognized Montenegro on 27 June 2006. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 1 September 2006. Australia is represented through its embassy in Belgrade, Serbia.
Economic relations[edit]
In 2012, the overall trade amounted to 250.240 euros, of which imports from Australia was 203.114 euros, and exports to Australia 47,126 euros. Direct investments from Australia amounted to 1,699,924,06 euros.[1][2]
Diaspora[edit]
In 2011, Australia Census recorded 1,553 people of Montenegrin ancestry living in Australia.[3]
