Scope[edit]

The defining SNP, L192.2 was first found by Engineer Thomas Krahn in 2010,[1] under the through the Y chromosome project,[2] conducted by Family Tree DNA in a sample belonging to a man from Msaken, Tunisia from the Al Gazzah Family. It was then found in next years (2010 to 2016) in a lot of other male DNA samples from different countries of the world.

Subclades[edit]

J2-L192 has so far two known subclades based on last BigY[3] Next Generation SNP testing conducted by Family Tree DNA:

  • J2-L192
    • J2-L271 found only in Msaken, Tunisia and among the Msaken diaspora in France.
    • J2-FGC30635 :
      • J2-Z33995 and Z33976: Turkey, Armenia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq ...
        • J2-Z42815,Z42816,Z42817,42818,Z42819 : Iraq and Russia
      • J2-FGC30649
        • J2-L534 : this sub clade was found among Syrian Christians group in Kerala, India and also in a Sample from Sri Lanka tested by 1000 Genome project.

TMRCA[edit]

The time to the most recent ancestor is actually estimated at 5600 YBP, according to the BigY tests[3] and based on Yfull analysis and calculation.[5]
