Jack Becht (born August 23, 1984) is an American Creative Director, Designer, Director, and Human Rights Attorney.[1] Becht has been recognized for his film, photo, and design work within fashion advertising and editorial, and was formerly an attorney at the United Nations.[2][3]
Early life and education
Becht was born in New York, and grew up on the North Fork of Long Island. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School in 2010 and joined United Nations.[4][5]
Professional career
Becht, after obtaining his law degree, joined United Nations Office of Staff Legal Assistance, and worked at the DC-2 Building in New York and the UNEP campus in Gigiri, Kenya. He was a senior creative and Chief Operations Officer at Bullett Magazine,[6] where he co-founded Bullett Interactive. He was also a co-founder and senior creative within BCA, Bullett’s in-house creative agency.[7]Bullett Magazine was a quarterly fashion, arts and culture magazine that featured a flip-cover for a unisex audience.[8]
From 2014-2017, Becht was Creative Director, Fashion Luxury at Condé Nast.[9][10]He created content and advertising for Vogue, GQ, The New Yorker,Vanity Fair, Glamor, Allure, Pitchfork, Condé Nast Traveler, and Teen Vogue. In 2017, he launched Italian fashion designer Alessandro Michele’s 2017 Gucci Pre-Fall Collection in North America with a campaign directed by Gia Coppola, featuring Lou Doillon. He holds Creative Director and Director credits for the Chanel 2018 fine jewelry campaign. He led the 2017 Persol eyewear campaign featuring Vincent Gallo. Further clients included BMW, Miu Miu, and others.[11]
In 2019, Becht partnered to launch Odunpazari Modern Museum (OMM).[12]
In 2020, Becht was Digital Fashion Director at Selfridges, located in London. He led the retailer’s creative direction across advertising, editorial and campaign content through partnerships with several brands, including Gucci, Prada, Dior, Bottega Veneta, Tiffany, Gentle Monster, Miu Miu, and more.[13] [14][15]Becht launched the Kim Kardashian Skims brand in the UK with photographer Vanessa Beecroft. He partnered with Hiroshi Fujiwara to launch a garment collaboration between The Face Magazine and Fragment Design.
In February 2021 he was named Creative Director, Agency at Ralph Lauren,[16][17][18]where he led content and advertising for the American Designer RALPH LAUREN, overseeing the Polo, Purple Label, Collection, Lauren, Home, Hospitality and RL content studio divisions, as well as all licensees.[19][20][21][22]
Personal Life
In 2023, Becht married Swiss model and entrepreneur Ronja Furrer.[23][24]
