Earnest Wambora, popularly known as Jack Rooster is a Kenyan Disk Jockey and record producer.[1] Wambora mainly produces Afro House and sometimes other forms of music. His work has been included in various compilations including mix compilations by Kenya Nights, 6AM, EDM Kenya and on Decimal Records 2018 release, Decimators Volume 1.[2][3][4]

Jack Rooster hosts a music podcast known as Deeper Sounds of Nairobi (DSoN) since 2010.[5] It has been ranked as the most popular podcast on Kenyan ITunes.[6] He also produces and hosts Caffe Mocha, a weekly radio show on Homeboyz Radio since 2011, making it one of the longest running House Music radio shows in Kenya.[7][8]On 4 May 2017, Jack Rooster was announced as one of the three newly signed artists to Decimal Records during their 20th anniversary relaunch party at Michael Joseph Centre.[9][10]

On 10 May 2018, Jack Rooster was ranked third by digital media platform OkayAfrica in their editorial list of 10 must-listen-to House musicians from Kenya & Uganda.[11] On 30th April 2019, he announced that he was finalizing his album titled NYUMBA through his Instagram account[12]. Video for the lead single, Wamlambez, premiered on video-sharing platform YouTube on 10 May 2019. It features rapper BonEye of Hip hop group P Unit and Brian Nadra.[13]Signed copies of the album were made available on 15 July 2019 at the album launch concert held at The Alchemist Bar, Westlands, Nairobi.[14] The event also featured guest performances by his label mates, Decimators. The album was released later to music streaming sites and has since received critical acclaim and positive reviews.[15][16][17]
