Jack Scott is an author, gay-rights activist, and active blogger currently residing in the country of Turkey. Scott was born on a British army base in Canterbury, England in the year of 1960. During his childhood, he also spent some time residing in the country of Malaysia. Scott decided to become a shop boy Chelsea, UK in an effort to avoid further education. Two years later, Scott started his career. When Scott turned 40 years old, he grew tired of his life in London and moved to Turkey to start a new life with his husband, Liam.

In 2010, Jack Scott rose to fame as an English blogger documenting his daily life as gay man in the country of Turkey, often known for it’s harsh restrictions on the LGBT community. His blog, known as “Perking the Pansies” became immediately popular and soon became one of the top English language blogs in Turkey. The next year, Scott was featured in the Turkish press due to his blog, published for many travel magazines, and was featured by the Huffington Post.[1]

In the same year, Scott published a book documenting his life in Turkey due to many requests he received from fans of his blog asking for a book. The book, titled “Perking the Pansies, Jack and Liam move to Turkey”, was published in the year 2011 and became a hit. The book was a finalist for the prestigious Polari First Book Prize and received critical acclaim from many Turkish newspapers. The success of his publishing venture opened many doors for Scott and he wants to continue his career as an author.

In 2015, Jack published the sequel to his book and titled it “Turkey Street, Jack and Liam move to Bodrum”. This work was also very successful and became the runner up at the Rainbow Book Awards of 2015. [2]
