Jacob Kyle Young is an American film actor, screenwriter and a producer based in Los Angeles, California, United States.[1]

Early life[edit]

Jacob was born on September 28, 1993 in Plano, Texas. Jacob played soccer, football and he was an amateur natural bodybuilder. After a car accident, he moved to Austin, Texas and became a fitness trainer at Gold's Gym.[2][3] He was once ranked as the number one personal trainer of Gold's Gym in the country.[4] He took acting lessons from Marco Perella in Austin.[5] At the age of 21, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.[6]

Career[edit]

He started to act in media projects, short movies and commercials. In 2017, Jacob made his debut in Hollywood by acting as a lead in the virtual reality film ‘My Brother’s Keeper’, which was produced by PBS.[7] It premiered at Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for an Emmy (Special Categories).[2] He has acted in more than 20 independent films. He is Pathwater’s brand ambassador.[8][9]

He is the founder of the production company, Post Modern Entertainment. He further produced and acted in three films[10] namely Take the Shot,[11] Get Over It and The Descendants.[12]

Jacob co-produced a feature film, My Babysitter the Super Hero[13]. He was the co-executive producer for the film The Three Bears and the Perfect Gift[14], which won The Dove Award. He acted in the Lurking Man,[15] Sunrise in Heaven[16] and Love and Four Walls[17]. He also wrote three feature films; Reach[18], Boy Dreamer[19], and Kepler[20]. Reach[21] is being co-produced by Jacob along with Amar Balaggan of Vector Film Services.
