Jacob Lysgaard is a Norwegian graphic artist, designer, musician and DJ, associated with the record label Nabovarsel.

Design[edit]

Besides his work as head of design at Nabovarsel, Jacob Lysgaard is perhaps best known for the development of the visual profile behind Phonofestivalen, amongst several other festivals and bands in Norway and Bergen especially. His Amalgam project, finished in 2011, gathered substantial interest from various music technology press. In general, he is most known for being behind a substantial amount of the record covers and concert posters in the local Bergen music scene.

Music[edit]

Jacob Lysgaard mainly creates music using his last name Lysgaard as moniker, although he has previously been known as DJ Totem, DJ Lys and Bocaj, mainly to differentiate between genres. As a member of the Nabovarsel label, Lysgaard have been making music in the Bergen scene since the early 2000s. He is credited on recordings from Stöv, Syme and The Afeeliated amongst others, and was a member of the live band for Put Your Hands Up For Neo-Tokyo during 2012. Lysgaard spent four years (2005–2009) as the host of MoveOnUp, a music morning programme on the radio station Studentradioen i Bergen. He currently hosts the Nabovarsel podcast.
