Jacqui Melksham (born 12 October 1978 in Mansfield) is an Australian former football (soccer) referee.[1]

Career[edit]

Melksham officiated two matches at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup: the opening match between Germany and Canada on 26 June 2011 which took place at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin;[2] and the quarterfinal match between Brazil and the United States on 10 July 2011 which took place at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion in Dresden.[3]

In a column for ESPN, David Hirshey said he thought that Melksham did not call the U.S.-Brazil World Cup game well.[4] San Francisco-based sportswriter Ray Ratto said that she was not a 'thief', but just had a 'bad day at the office'.[5] Melksham also works as a graphic designer.
