Jaehyun (Hangul: 재현, born February 14, 1997) is a South Korean singer. He is currently active as a member of NCT, as well as its sub-units NCT U and NCT127.[1]
Early life and education[edit]
Jaehyun was born in Seoul, South Korea on February 14, 1997. He was originally given the name Jung Yoon-oh (정재현). He graduated from School of Performing Arts Seoul in 2016.[citation needed]
Career[edit]
Jaehyun was first unveiled as a member of the SM Rookies in December 2013.[2] From January to July 2015, he was appointed as a MC for MBC's music program Show Champion alongside fellow member Doyoung.[3]
2016: Debuts with NCT U and NCT127[edit]
Jaehyun made his debut as a member of NCT U in April 2016 with the double released digital singles "The 7th Sense" and "Without You", with the latter of the two being released in both Korean and Chinese.[4][5] He was subsequently announced as part of NCT's second unit, NCT 127.[6] The unit released their debut EP NCT #127 was released digitally on July 10 and physically on July 11.[7]
2017–present: Group and Solo activities[edit]
In March 2017, Jaehyun was announced as the new DJ for SBS Power FM new program, NCT's Night Night alongside fellow member Johnny.[8] The radio program started to air on March 20.
On November 24, 2017, Jaehyun released his first solo single titled "Try Again".[9]
