Jahanzeb Qamar (Urdu: جہانزیب قمر) is a Pakistani playwright, scriptwriter and drama writer.[1] Qamar started his career in 2000[2] after completing his bachelor's in chemical engineering, as a playwright from PTV Lahore center. He wrote many memorable plays including, Tapti Chaan for which he earned an PTV Best Independent Playwrighter Award in 2002, Jahanzeb considered Muneeza Hashmi his mentor and teacher due to her, Qamar entered Pakistan TV industry. His memorable plays are Din Dhallay, Ik Nazar Mere Taraf, Main Hari Piya and Tera Pyar Nahi Bhoole. His long lasting relation with Pakistan Television Corporation has earned a great fame and reputed place in industry.
Personal life and education[edit]
Jahanzeb Qamar was born on 26 July 1976 in Sargodha, Punjab,[3] Pakistan, to a Muslim parents. He attended PAF Public School Sargodha and did matriculation with science subjects, later he attended Air Base Inter College and completed Fsc. with pre-engineering. Qamar earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Punjab University in 2000 and during his career he completed his master's in Urdu literature.
Work and career[edit]
Currently Qamar is serving duties as college principal in Sargodha at Misali Ravian College. Qamar started his career from PTV at Lahore center and wrote his first ever independent play Tapti chan for which won many awards, later he established himself as a lead male writer of PTV. Currently he is working on Pakistan's first ever children's drama serial Roshan Rastay on PTV Home.
