Jake Asman (born September 18th, 1995) is an American sports radio personality. He currently hosts The Jake Asman Show weekdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. EST on the SportsMap Radio Network

Biography[edit]

Early Years[edit]

Asman grew up in Syosset, New York and graduated from Syosset High School in 2013. Asman's career began hosting a radio show at the age of 13 with a weekly radio show on Syosset High School's student run radio station, WKWZ[1]. He then attended Ithaca College where he majored in Television-Radio at The Park School of Communications and graduated in 2017. While at Ithaca College, Asman worked at WABC-7 in New York City, Fox Sports Radio in Los Angeles, and with NBC Sports at the Rio Olympics[2].

Professional Radio Career[edit]

After graduating from Ithaca College, Jake worked for WFAN Sports Radio and CBS Sports Radio as a producer and board operator. Asman additionally hosted a morning show on the internet sports station SportsOnTheGo1 in Ronkonkoma, New York.

In July 2018, Asman was hired by Gow Media in Houston to host on SB Nation Radio (now SportsMap Radio) and fill-in host and report locally for KFNC (97.5 "ESPN Houston")[3]

On Dec. 27th. 2018 Asman moved from weekends and fill-in to nights on SB Nation Radio as the host of The Power Hour. The show lasted in that time slot until July 2019.[4]

On July. 8th 2019 Asman moved to afternoons to co host “The Main Event with Jake Asman & Cody Stoots”, which aired weekdays from 4 p.m to 8 p.m EST on SB Nation Radio[5]. This new afternoon show lasted until March 31st, 2020, when Gow Media placed both Asman on Stoots on temporarily furlough due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

On May 15th 2020 Asman moved to middays on SB Nation Radio (currently SportsMap Radio) to host The Jake Asman Show, airing from 9 a.m - 11 a.m EST. Asman also hosts a solo show on Saturday afternoons on SportsMap Radio, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m EST.[6]

Interviews[edit]

Jake Asman has conducted interviews with some of the world's most famous athletes, celebrities, and entertainers. The interviews included talks with Martha Stewart, Lil Nas X, Joe Montana[7], Joe Namath[8], Gary Vaynerchuk, The Backstreet Boys, Luke Wilson, DeAndre Hopkins, Von Miller, Cam Newton, and John Daly.

Personal Life[edit]

Asman is an avid fan of the New York Yankees, New York Jets, New York Knicks, and New York Islanders.
