Jake Hoffman is an American politician and activist. He is currently running for the District 62 seat in the Florida House of Representatives.[1][2]

Education[edit]

Hoffman earned bachelor's degrees in communications and political science and a master's degree in business from the University of South Florida.[1][2]

Career[edit]

In 2016, Hoffman and Chris Sassouni founded Invasion Digital Media.[3][4] Invasion Digital Media has partnered with professional athletes in the NFL and UFC.[1] Hoffman has served as a guest speaker at events such as the Digital Summit Tampa[5][6] and Techstars Week Tampa Bay in 2018.[7]

Hoffman was elected president of the Tampa Bay Young Republicans in 2018.[5] In 2018, he was featured in an episode of PBS's NewsHour, discussing the Florida midterm elections.[8] As president of the Tampa Bay Young Republicans, Hoffman has also been interviewed in outlets such as ABC Action News,[9] Bay News 9,[10] BuzzFeed News,[11] and The Washington Post.[12] When the Gasparilla Pirate Festival was cancelled in 2021, Hoffman and the Tampa Bay Young Republicans organized their own pirate-themed boat parade in April.[13][14][15][16] In 2021, Hoffman and the Tampa Young Republicans advocated for Florida Senate Bill 90, which amended the state's election law in regards to voting.[1]

Hoffman has written opinion pieces for publications such as the Sarasota Herald-Tribune,[17] the Tampa Bay Times,[18] and Florida Politics.[19] He also hosts and produces the political podcast Moderately Outraged, alongside his fiancée Michelle Sassouni.[20]

In September 2021, Hoffman announced he would run against Susan Valdes for the Florida House District 62 seat.[1]
