Baraka became the reigning heavyweight (92 kg) champion of the Uganda Boxing Champions League (UBCL) following his 2023 title win, a status he held into the league's 2024 season.[4] In June 2024, during UBCL Season 3, he lost his heavyweight title to Aziz Ringo of the Kololo Boxing Club.[5][4] The two boxers met again in a UBCL Season 4 main event in July 2025, held at Lugogo Sports Complex, which Ringo won by unanimous decision.[3]
