James Dring (born 1983) is a British music producer, mixer and songwriter. He has been nominated for two Grammy Awards.[1][2][3]
Career
James Dring started his career as an assistant to producer Cameron McVey.
Dring has worked with various artists, including Gorillaz, Jamie T, Loyle Carner, Beyoncé, Nilufer Yanya, Lana Del Rey, Sorry (band), KennyHoopla, Genesis Owusu, and Self Esteem.[1][3][4]
The 2008 documentary "Bananaz" highlights Dring's role in producing Gorillaz's albums "Demon Days" (2005) and "D-Sides" (2007), shedding light on his contributions during the recording of the song "Rockit".[1]
He has worked with Jamie T on several studio albums, including "Panic Prevention" (2007), "Kings And Queens" (2009), "Carry On The Grudge" (2014), and "Trick" (2016).[1][3][4]
Dring received a Grammy nomination for his contribution to Beyoncé's "Once In a Lifetime", along with Amanda Ghost, Scott McFarnon, Ian Dench, and Jody Street.[5][6][7][8]
James Dring served as the producer for the debut album "925" (2020) by the band Sorry.[9] He has also contributed to their follow up album “Anywhere but Here”.
In 2022, Bucks Music Group announced the signing of James Dring to an exclusive worldwide songwriting agreement.[1][4][3]
