Jamie Darvill (born 5 January 1988 in London) is an English former footballer.

Career[edit]

Early career in England[edit]

Darvill attended Meopham Sports College, and was a member of the youth academy at Conference National side Ebbsfleet United as a teenager, scoring 82 goals in 95 games for the team's U18 side. After breaking into the first team at Ebbsfleet United, Darvill attracted interest from a number of football league clubs. In June, however, Darvill informed The Fleet that he had committed to a scholarship and would be moving to the United States to attend and play college soccer at Loyola University Maryland.

College[edit]

Darvill played four years at Loyola; he was named to the MAAC All-Rookie squad in his first year, was the MAAC Offensive Player of the Year, and earned spots on the league First Team, the NSCAA/adidas All-North Atlantic Regional team and the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Year as a junior in 2008, and repeated as the MAAC Offensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2009 while being named to the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list.^[1] He finished his college career having played 73 games for the Greyhounds, with 36 goals and 27 assists to his name. This placed him in the top ten all time leading scorers in program history.

Professional[edit]

Darvill turned professional in 2010 when he signed to play for the Real Maryland Monarchs in the USL Second Division under the guidance of Anthony Hudson.^[2] He made his professional debut on 17 April 2010 in the team's 2010 season opener against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.^[3] In January 2011, Darvill was invited to Leyton Orient F.C. where he would spend the remainder of the season before heading to Swedish side Östersunds FK. Upon returning to England, Darvill signed for Ebbsfleet United in August 2011.

In October 2012, Darvill returned to the United States to sign for the Baltimore Blast where he was part of the team that captured the 2013 MISL Championship.

International[edit]

Darvill was included in the Great Britain University squad for a training camp in Sweden ahead of the World University Games in July 2011 where he scored twice against Ostersunds FK in a friendly.
