Jane Pullman Standish (Jane Pullman) was born on November 17, 1984, to Chester and Marie Pullman of New York, New York and Southampton, New York, and, is heiress to the Pullman family companies and charitable trust. Jane was educated in the best private schools in Manhattan's Upper East Side, and, was a 2004 debutante.

In 2010 Jane Pullman founded The Social Network of New York City[1], an organization that helps raise awareness and funds for charitable and non-profit agencies. Jane has served as the organization's Chairwoman since its inception. In 2011, Jane Pullman became engaged to David Standish. After having to cancel their wedding twice, the couple finally wed on July 4, 2014.[2]

Shortly after, Chester Pullman[3][4] (Father of Jane Pullman) announced his retirement and Jane Pullman Standish was the successor of the Pullman companies and Charitable Trust. Jane assumes the helm of the companies in January, 2015.

Pullman Trust[edit]

The Pullman Trust was created in 1930 as a charitable organization. The mission of Pullman Trust is give out grants to deserving charities dealing with poverty, hunger, women's rights and homelessness. In 2013, Jane Pullman created a KIVA team under the Pullman Trust name and logo,[5] yet another way the organization has found to help others help themselves through its micro-loan program, and, keep within the mission statement of Pullman Trust. In 2014, Chester Pullman announced he would be stepping down as Chairman, and, his daughter, Jane Pullman would be Chairwoman beginning in January, 2015. The Pullman family has given over $100 million in grants to charitable causes given via Pullman Trust for over six decades.

The Social Network of New York City[edit]

Jane Pullman[6] is the founder and Chairwoman of The Social Network of New York City.[7][8] The organization helps raise awareness and funds for charitable and non-profit agencies world-wide, and, it is based in New York, NY. They are noted for their transparency, and, accountability.

The Social Network of New York City work revolves around the following strategic themes:

  • Build and maintain a bridge between the community and organized philanthropy throughout the world.
  • Raise awareness and fund-raise for causes such as (but not limited to) the natural environment, children's health and rights, education, hunger & homelessness, animal rights and protection, cyber-bullying, public health, domestic abuse, women's rights and community and consumer rights.
  • Promote collaboration between labor, environmental, business, consumer, government, and social interests.

The organization is noted for their holiday gala which attraction an international guest list and raises additional funds for charities.

The Pullman - Standish Wedding[edit]

The Pullman - Standish marriage was a long time coming. Not long after getting engaged, Jane Pullman was in a serious car accident that almost killed her. It took over a year of physical therapy to get Jane back to health, and, the wedding was rescheduled for 2013. Just two weeks prior to the wedding, Jane's Mother, Marie Pullman, suffered a massive heart attack and died on October 1, 2013.[10] Jane and her Father were both too heart broken to proceed with the wedding.

On July 4, 2014 David Standish and Jane Pullman surprised friends, family and press with a flash wedding on a yacht in New York Harbor. The wedding was highlighted by ABC News[11] and Brides.com[12] as part of their online news regarding the new trend of secret flash weddings. (A flash wedding is when the guests do not know they are attending a wedding.)

The guest list read like a "Who's Who" in business, entertainment, and, old money families ranging from publisher T.R. “Tina” Threston[13] to former professional baseball player and Co-founder of The Scott - Michaels Group, Andrew Michaels[14] to college and school friends with last names such as Forbes, Walton and Del Vecchio. They coupled honeymoon in France and Italy.
