Jared Shum
Jared Taylor Shum (born 20 March 1996) is an American human rights and equality activist. He is publicly associated with non-profits such as Encircle, LOVELOUD, Equality Utah,[1] and the Human Rights Campaign.[2] Shum made his television debut during an episode of CNN's United Shades of America.[3] During the episode, both himself and pop-singer Dan Reynolds, were interviewed by show host W. Kamau Bell juxtaposing LGBTQ+ issues and the culture surrounding The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; a publicly conservative institution that is headquartered in Salt Lake City, UT.[4]
