Jason Scott Nelson (born December 10, 1987), also known as 제이슨 넬슨, is an American actor, model, and voice actor based in South Korea. He has worked in the entertainment industry since 2015.
Early life[edit]
Jason Scott Nelson was born on December 10, 1987 in Clinton, Illinios, the second son of Kenneth Edward Nelson, a nuclear engineer originally from Granite City, Illinois, and Leisa JoAnn (née Christiansen), a US Airways plane supervisor from Swan Valley, Idaho. He has three brothers, Benjamin, Adam, and Zaquen, and one sister, Ahnjeanette. They are of English, German, French, and Norwegian descent.
Nelson and his family later moved to Raleigh, North Carolina when he was 12. Later on, he served as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2007-2009 in South Korea. Upon completion of this mission, Nelson went to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he studied psychology, Korean, and acting.[1]
Career[edit]
Nelson made his television debut in 2015 for SBS TV's morning breakfast news and talk show called Morning Wide (모닝와이드) where he acted under the guise of a Korean celebrity's friend and tested the English skill levels of their children. He participated more with this undercover bit with varying situations, but he later branched out to other platforms and mediums of entertainment. His most noticeable works include Saturday Night Live Korea (SNL 코리아)'s kiss scene with Tiffany Young (티파니) from Girl's Generation (소녀시대), and the character of Joseph W. Stenson[2] from Mr. Sunshine (2018 TV series),[3] which premiered internationally on Netflix.[4]
