Jeanine Olive Abiola (née Bitega Ngaba, born 31 March 1964) is a Cameroonian-Nigerian businesswoman and philanthropist. She is best known as the wife of the late Nigerian businessman and political figure, Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola.
Early Life and Education
Jeanine Olive Abiola was born in Lagos, Nigeria, to Cameroonian parents, NGABA Minteme Leon and MBENA Marie Madelene. She spent her early childhood in Cameroon, where she attended Maria Goretti Primary School in New Bell, Douala, and then Collège Christ Roi d'Obout. She later moved to Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, where she completed her baccalauréat certificate at École Pigier Plateau.
After her secondary education, she attended a finishing school in Hampstead, London, where she became an effective communicator in English.
Personal Life
Jeanine Olive met MKO Abiola in 1982 and later married him. She was his only Christian wife, in contrast to his Muslim faith. Together, they had three children:

- Abibat Omowunmi Anderson (née Abiola)
- Aliyu Ngaba Abiola
She was active during the political crisis in Nigeria following the annulment of the 1993 presidential election, which her husband was widely believed to have won.
Career and Business Endeavors
Jeanine Olive Abiola has pursued various business and philanthropic initiatives over the years. She was a major importer of frozen fish to Nigeria from Nouadhibou, Mauritania between 2000 and 2010.
She also oversaw and supported several development projects in Nigeria, including:
- Rural electrification project in Kogi State (2000)
- Borehole and solar panel water project with the NDDC in Bayelsa State (2008)
She currently serves as the Chairperson of Jeanine Limited.
Philanthropy
Jeanine Olive Abiola has been involved in charitable and development-focused causes across West Africa. In July 2024, she was a Diamond Sponsor of the 3rd International Forum for Transformation of African Cotton, Textiles & Accessories (FICOTA), held in Kribi, Cameroon — a platform aimed at boosting the African textile industry.
Legal Advocacy
In 2020, she engaged Nigerian Senior Advocate Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN) to challenge the prolonged detention of two of MKO Abiola’s sons by Nigerian authorities.[1][2]
