Jelle van Vucht (born 14 October 1996), known by his online alias Jelly, is a Dutch YouTuber known for his gaming videos and vlogs. He was a member of the gaming trio known as Robust, consisting of YouTubers, Slogoman, and Kwebbelkop/Crainer, of which whom he founded in 2014, however, on August 17, 2024, Jelly left the group, citing that he wanted to pursue solo content.
Early life and education
Jelle was born in Roermond in the Dutch province of Limburg. He also has a brother named Koen van Vucht. After graduating from high school, he attended Eindhoven University of Technology, following an audio-visual course, but later dropped out due to a lack of interest..[2]
YouTube Career
During his school days, Jelle would show clips of him gaming to his friends, after seeing his friends were interested in this type of content, Jelle created his first YouTube channel, GTA 5 Videos, in 2011, to which as the name suggest, he uploaded video game content from Grand Theft Auto V.
Robust
In February 2014, Jelle, along with YouTubers Aquib and Kwebbelkop, founded the gaming trio Robust[3]. They published gaming content together until May 2014, when Aquib left and British YouTuber Slogoman (Joshua Temple) joined.
Subsequently, Jelle started his YouTube channel, Jelly, in May of 2014. The trio continued to record frequently, posting videos twice per day on their respective channels, until 2019, when Kwebbelkop left the trio after temporarily living in New York City together before getting evicted[4]. This left Jelle and Joshua as a YouTube duo, continuing to record gaming videos together.
In late 2019, Jelle and Joshua started making videos with the Danish YouTuber Crainer (Benjamin Vestergård)[5]. In December 2019, Jelly announced that Kwebbelkop was replaced by Crainer in Robust. The trio continued to film gaming content, rising in popularity.
In May 2022, Jelle and Joshua removed Crainer from the description of their videos, implying that Crainer stopped recording with the group. In November 2023, Crainer reunited with the other two members, reforming the trio.
Leaving Robust
On August 17, 2024, Joshua announced the official departure of Jelle from the Robust Group. This seemed to have started since late July when Jelle stopped recording with the other two members as a result of moving houses.
However, the very next day, Jelle uploaded a video on the situation[6], stating that he was undergoing creator burnout. He also stated that he felt left out with the other two, especially due to content from the SLG channel. He would then state to he would start making solo content.
In 2018, Josh co-starred alongside the rest of the Sidemen in the YouTube Premium series The Sidemen Show.[7] In 2019, Josh was listed as the ninth most influential online creator in the United Kingdom by The Sunday Times.[1] In a 2021 article discussing gambling issues surrounding the FIFA game series, Josh was cited by The Sunday Times as an example of a YouTuber sponsored by EA to make pack-opening videos.[8]
Reuniting with Kwebbelkop
On September 8, 2024, five years after Kwebbelkop left, Jelly and him reunited, getting the latter out of gaming retirement. They continue to film gaming content together.
Other ventures
two/thirds Podcast
On February 27th, 2023, Joshua and Jelly partnered up and created the two/thirds channel, a comedic podcast. The channel has not uploaded since July 2023[9]
Personal life
He has been in a relationship with fellow Norwegian YouTuber iamSanna since 2014.
