Dr. Jenelle Kim is a Korean-American author.[1], herbologist, acupuncturist, and entrepreneur based in San Diego, California[2]. She is nationally board certified in Herbology, Oriental Medicine, and Acupuncture, and has trained with doctors and herbologists in Asia[3]

Her book, Myung Sung: The Korean Art of Living Meditation, was released on January 11, 2022 by Watkins Publishing in the United Kingdom and Penguin Random House in the United States[4]. The book is currently being translated into Czech, Italian, Spanish, and Thai.[5] The book discusses how a form of active meditation can be used to better connect with one’s everyday life and experience a calm mindfulness throughout the day.

Kim has also written articles for Meditation Mag[6], been a guest speaker on podcasts[7][8], and has appeared on Good Morning America to share her expertise.[9]

She is the founder of JBK Wellness Labs in San Diego.[10], herbologist, acupuncturist, and entrepreneur based in San Diego, California[11] JBK creates the formulas for cosmetics, body care products, hair care products, dietary supplements, and more, using traditional East Asian herbs and medicines. Its products currently are sold in stores such as Whole Foods and Neiman Marcus, and to hotel chains such as Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and the Ritz Carlton.[12] At JBK, Kim serves as the Chief Formulator as well as the “custodian of her family’s proprietary Bi Bong formulas.”[13]

Kim is also a co-founder of the Good Essentials wellness lifestyle brand with Michelle Chereque[14]. Good Essentials creates sanitizing products that are made from completely natural and organic ingredients.[15]

Kim is the daughter of a Korean monk and an American mother.[16] Kim obtained a Doctorate of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego, CA, and also previously attended Pitzer College as an undergraduate.[17]
