Early life and education[edit]

Wynes was raised in the Quad Cities of western Illinois. He attended Illinois State University for his undergraduate work and then studied law at the DePaul University College of Law.[7] He says he grew up as a Democrat but later became a Republican because he, "eventually realized the Democratic Party was abandoning its moderate voters and leaders for the sake of so-called ‘progressive’ leadership."[8]
