Jesse Philippe is an American politician running for the House of Representatives in Florida's 15th congressional district. He is a part of the Democratic party. He previously ran for the office in 2020 but lost the primary.
Early life and education[edit]
Philippe was born in North Miami, Florida, to a single Haitian mother. Jesse took on the role of raising his brothers while his mother focused on working and earning a college degree. He decided to go to college and earn a bachelor's degree in Public Policy. He studied government operation, team building, creating laws, and policies geared toward helping working and low-income families.
Career[edit]
When Philippe was 19 years old, he joined the Marines, and soon after, he deployed to Iraq. He came back after six years of service and a tour in Iraq. During college, to pay off the debt, Jesse began working for a telecommunications corporation. After college, he decided to go to law school so he could understand the laws and how they affected people.
Political career[edit]
In 2020, Jesse ran for the House of Representatives in Florida's 15th Congressional District. He came 3rd in the primary with 13.384 votes, with the winner, Alan Cohn, getting 21,079 votes. On January 18, 2021, Jesse announced that he would seek the nomination again in 2022 to run for the office.
