Biography[edit]

Early life and education[edit]

Jevin Hodge was born and raised in Tempe, Arizona. His mother, Berdetta Hodge, is a member of the Tempe Union High School District Governing Board.[5]

Jevin Hodge graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and an emphasis on Public Policy.[6]

As a senior in high school, Hodge authored Senate Bill 1066, which would have recognized graduating high school seniors in Arizona who had done more than 200 hours of community service; the bill passed the Arizona Senate with bipartisan support.[7] It is believed that the bill was vetoed by Republican Governor Jan Brewer because it was introduced by then-State Senator David Schapira, a Democrat.[8]

An activist in Arizona's African American community, Hodge spoke at the Martin Luther King Jr. Diversity Awards[10] and received the Roy Wilkins Service Award from the East Valley NAACP.

Professionally, Hodge serves as the National Engagement Coordinator for LINK Strategic Partners, a national strategic communications and stakeholder engagement firm headquartered in Washington, D.C.[11]
