Jhimli Roy is an Indian film director.[2] Her debut short film "By the way"(2016) premiered at the International Film Festival of Kerala in IDSFFK official section of the festival.[3] "Jaltarang"(2020) and "Still Connected"(2018) premiered at the Kolkata International Film Festival as official selection in the 26th and 24th editions of the festival respectively.[4] [5] [6]

Early life[edit]

Jhimli Roy was born on 24 May 1986 to A.Roy Chowdhury and Subhasree Roy Chowdhury. She grew up in Mumbai, India.

Career[edit]

Jhimli Roy made her debut with the bilingual short film "By the Way" in 2016, followed by "Still Connected", an English short film in 2018 and "Jaltarang", Hindi short film in 2020. All her films have been screened at major film festivals and explore various and relevant social issues, which include right to education, depression and cyber world, child abuse and human trafficking.[7] [8] [9]
