Jiabao Li
Jiabao Li (Chinese: 李佳宝) is a Chinese artist, designer, inventor, and professor.[1] Known for her experimental and conceptual work at the intersection of technology, design, biology, and the arts. Li has invented several products and features for Apple Inc., presented her art on the TED stage[2] and in museums across the world.

Design work[edit]
Li has contributed significantly to the tech industry, as a part of Apple's core design team for experimental products, interfaces, and technologies from 2017 to 2021. Li is notable for inventing features in the Scribble function for the Apple Pencil and Handwriting. She conceived and prototyped several features for the Apple Health App for mental and physical health. She also played a crucial role in the conception, prototyping, and development of the Apple Vision Pro.[3]
Academic and artistic work[edit]
Li currently serves as a Tenure Track Assistant Professor at The University of Texas at Austin.[4] In her lab, she explores the intersection of art, design, technology, and biology, with interests spanning from interspecies co-creation to knowledge graph and from Biosensors to menstrual blood proteomes.[5]
Her diverse and collaborative artistic works include Squid Map,[6] Chthulucene,[7] Once a Glacier,[8] Mouse Coach,[9] Glacier's Lament,[10] Menstrual Garden,[11] TransVision,[12] Unfinished Farewell,[13] Toss Pan Dance,[14] AToTA,[15] and Twinkle.[16] They have been featured internationally at venues like the Venice Architecture Biennale, MoMA, Ars Electronica, Today Art Museum Biennial, SIGGRAPH, Milan and Dubai Design Week, Ming Contemporary Museum, ISEA, Anchorage Museum, OCAT Contemporary Art Terminal, CHI, Museum of Design, and Alaska State Museum.
Li is a member of NEW INC Creative Science at the New Museum[17] and ONX Studio.[18] She has given a TED Talk in which she explores how technology mediates the way we perceive reality.[2]
Entrepreneurship[edit]
In addition to her artistic and academic careers, Li is the co-founder and chief product officer of Endless Health with the mission to eradicate heart disease.[19]
Early life and education[edit]
Jiabao Li was born and raised in Shenyang, China where she attended Northeast Yucai School for middle and part of high school. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with distinction honors.[20] Afterward, she worked as a product design lead at Sea, a leading global consumer internet company founded in Singapore.[1] Later, she attended the Harvard Graduate School of Design, earning a Master of Design in Technology with distinction and the Thesis Award.

Jiabao Li is married to Dr. Cooper Galvin,[21] a biochemist and entrepreneur from Alaska.

Li has been recognized widely for her innovative work, including being named in Forbes China's "30 Under 30".[22][23] She is the recipient of numerous awards, such as the iF Design Award,[24] Outstanding Instructor Award,[25] All America Chinese Youth Federation 30 under 30,[26] Falling Walls,[27] NEA, STARTS Prize,[28] Fast Company,[29] Core77,[30] IDSA, A’ Design Award,[31] Webby Award,[32][33] Cannes World Film Festival Best VR short Award.
