Background

Jimmy D., formerly BenQ Canada's GM, has left the Canadian operation to become chief operating officer of BenQ North America. He was previously appointed the vice-president of sales and marketing for the U.S. region for BenQ.[4]

Davlouros said BenQ currently falls short on back-end infrastructure in North America. Building the infrastructure to support a billion-dollar organization will be his top priority as COO. He always believed he would be back in the U.S. “I had no idea that this opportunity would be available to me. But, I figure, I am 45 and I can probably take this company by the horns and make it a powerhouse”, he said.[4]

Davlouros joined BenQ as Vice President and General Manager in October 2003. Serving as a Vice President and General Manager of BenQ Canada, he grew market share for projectors and LCD monitors from non-existent to number one in only 11 months.[5]

In 2000, he was appointed vice president of Samsung Electronics.[4] A 20-year veteran of sales and marketing in the technology sector, Davlouros began his career at Brother International's IT Group in 1992, where he became the first sales manager to join the board of directors for product planning. In 1998, he moved to Samsung Electronics, and established himself on the board of directors for product planning.[6]

Personal life & education

Jimmy Davlouros began his career as a musician after graduating with a BS in Computer Science from Concordia University. Hailing from Montreal, Quebec, he now lives in Toronto, Ontario.[7]
