She debuted as a member of the South Korean girl group Nmixx in February 2022. Following her departure from the ensemble on December 9, 2022, for personal reasons, she joined ATOC as a solo artist.[2]

Early life

Jini was born on April 16, 2004, as Choi Yun-jin, in Busan, South Korea.[2]

Pre-debut

Jini joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee in 2016.[3] In 2019, she appeared in 2PM's Nichkhun's music video for his solo debut song "Lucky Charm".[3] On August 6, 2021, Jini, along with Jiwoo and Kyujin, were revealed as the first three members of Nmixx (then known as "JYPn"), through a dance performance video.[4]

On April 14, 2023, it was reported by news media that Jini had signed an exclusive contract with ATOC (formerly called UAP),[7][8] and that they had signed a management MOU collaboration with Sublime to manage her activities on their behalf, which was later confirmed by Sublime.[9] On September 14, ATOC announced she would be making her debut with An Iron Hand in a Velvet Glove on October 11.[10][11]

Endorsement

On September 2023, Jini became the new muse for the skincare brand Mixsoon.[12]
