Jobeth Devera is a television host for NBC’s newest network and news show, NBC LX. She was the former host and and producer of Hawaii News Now's local lifestyle show Hawaii Now, also called "HI Now".

Early years[edit]

Devera was born in Long Beach, California[1] but was raised in San Diego, California after her father was stationed there with the U.S. Navy. Devera attended Morse High School and Steele Canyon High School where she graduated in 2007.[1] Devera attended San Diego State University and graduated in 2011 with a degree in Communication along with a minor in Public Relations.[1]

Career[edit]

In August 2012, Devera started her career in broadcast journalism as an overnight producer for KHGI-TV in Nebraska and later moved into the role of multimedia journalist/reporter and news anchor. Before that, she interned at Fox 5 San Diego. In late 2013, Devera moved to Omaha, NE and worked as the morning traffic anchor/reporter for KETV. In 2016, Devera joined the Hawaii News Now broadcast team as a general assignment news reporter.[2] In March 2018, Hawaii News Now announced that Devera was named the host of its new local lifestyle show HI Now.[3] In 2020, Devera won her first Emmy award for HI Now. In March 2020, Devera moved to Dallas, TX to help launch NBC’s newest network and news show, NBC LX as the morning host.
