Joe Dancey
Joe Dancey (born September 1976)[1] is a British politician who is currently the Labour Party candidate for Stockton West. He was previously head of Lord Sebastian Coe's office for the London 2012 Summer Olympics organising committee, playing a key role in organising the London Olympics,[2] and also worked for Baroness Amos and former Hartlepool MP Peter Mandelson, a fellow graduate of St Catherine's College, Oxford.[3][4]
Early Life
Dancey was born in Stockton-on-Tees to James Cook University Hospital NHS Nurse Mary Dancey and his father, who was a Chemical Engineer at Seal Sands.[5] He was educated in Eaglescliffe at Junction Farm Primary School and Egglescliffe School. He attended the University of Oxford, where he studied Philosophy, politics and economics.[6][7]
Personal Life
Dancey currently lives in Yarm in the Stockton West constituency, and has said that if elected this will continue to be his home when he is not in Westminster working.[8] He previously lived in East London with his partner, the Labour MP for Ilford North and Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting.[9][10][11][12]
