Joseph "Joe" O'Dea (born 1961/1962)[1] is the CEO of a Colorado construction company[2] and the Republican candidate for the 2022 United States Senate election in Colorado.[3]
Joe defeated Ron Hanks in the Republican primary on June 28, 2022.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] After Joe's primary election win an election analyst shifted the race rating.[12] CNN rated 2022 United States Senate election in Colorado #10 most likely to flip.[13] Joe calls himself a "a Republican Joe Manchin” who is willing to “work with reasonable people on both sides of the aisle."[14] Joe's fundraising is keeping his race competitive.[15] Democratic groups aligned with Chuck Schumer spent millions of dollars in the Republican primary.[16][17] The spending was denounced by former Colorado Senators Gary Hart, Mark Udall, Tim Wirth, former Colorado Governor Roy Romer and former Congresswoman Pat Schroeder.[18][19]
