Joe Sparks (born August 16, 1982) is an American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Sparks initiated his musical development at 12 years old, establishing a lifelong foundation in performance and composition. He later graduated from the Berklee College of Music, where he formally studied composition, technical audio production, and advanced multi-instrumental performance. He is a member of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) and operates as a registered author and publisher through the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).

Career

Sparks wrote, recorded, and produced his 12-track independent studio album, Regina In Her Purple Coveralls Inside The Circle. Operating as a complete multi-instrumentalist, Sparks personally performed every instrument and constructed every sound layer across the entire record, featuring vocal accompaniment from Taylor Bowen exclusively on the opening track.[1]

On June 10, 2026, Sparks released the debut digital single from the project, "Nice Little Refrain."[2] The track delivers a sharp pop format that simultaneously acts as a meta-examination of writing a catchy tune, driving busy rhythms, quick arrangement turns, and layered, complex melodic structures.[3] The single serves as the commercial introduction to his broader production catalog.

The full album is a genre-fluid independent release that transitions between alternative rock, experimental pop textures, melodic pop sensibilities, and reflective, groove-led songwriting.[4] Alongside "Nice Little Refrain," the 12-track project features the singles "One With Everything" and "Miss Ya, Miss Alyssa," building toward the centerpiece track, "Regina."[3] The entire operation is managed commercially under his entity, Sparks Lab Music Publishing LLC.

Personal Life

Sparks operates out of the United States, balancing his time between active studio production, independent engineering, and managing the publishing operations for his musical catalog.
