David Maxim Micic is a Serbian multi-instrumentalist, focusing on guitar and piano.[1][2][3] Other than pursuing his solo career, he is also member of Sordid Pink, a band previously known as Destiny Potato.[4]

David Maxim Micic studied composition at Berklee College of Music. He has released seven albums and EPs, including Who Bit the Moon, released in March 2017. David Maxim Micic plays Kiesel Guitars as of 2020,[5] after leaving Wood Guerilla Guitars in late 2019.[6] He had a number of signature guitars with Wood Guerilla, of which, his 'rustic pink' FAB SP1 model was sold for €2000 and all money was donated to Team Trees. He toured North America in 2017. He has made music videos for the songs "Someone Else's Hat" and "687 Days".

Personal Life[edit]

David Maxim Micic was born May 5th, 1990 in Dubrovnik, Croatia, then part of SFR Yugoslavia. He then moved at a young age to Belgrade, Serbia[4]

Micic started learning guitar private lessons from Serbian musician Petar Jelić when he was 15 years old, and introduced to Joe Satriani's music, which is when he decided that he would become a guitar player. [4] He then continued his studies at Berklee College of Music, where he studied music composition.[4]

2010 - Present : David Maxim Micic (Solo Career)

As of 2022, David Maxim Micic has released seven albums, with four of those are within the Bilo series (Bilo, Bilo 2.0, Bilo III, Bilo IV). Micic mentioned that the term "Bilo" is an old Serbo-Croatian word, meaning heartbeat or a pulse.[4]

2010 - Present : Destiny Potato / Sordid Pink

Destiny Potato is a project started in 2010 by David Maxim Micic and his high-school friend, Aleksandra Djelmash. The member has varied throughout the years, including Aleksandra Radosavljevic who is a runner up at the first season of Serbian-Montenegrin and Macedonian Idol. In 2012, the band signed with Century Media Records, and released their first full length album "LUN" in 2014.

In 2018, the remaining member of the band, which are Micic and Djelmash, stated that they are changing the name from Destiny Potato to Sordid Pink, which Micic said "It's a long story, but long story short, we feel like changing the name".[7] The band released an album titled "Sordid Pink" in 2020.

In 2011, David Maxim Micic stated that his musical background is Rock, Metal, Fusion, and his influences include Oz Noy, John Petrucci, Greg Howe, Erkan Oğur, Allan Holdsworth, Devin Townsend, Meshuggah, Fredrik Thordendal, Tesseract, Bulb / Misha Mansoor (of Periphery), Hybrid, BT, Tiësto, Infected Mushroom.[4] He describe his music as combination of Pop, Electro, Ambient, Atmospheric, Eastern European Folk, Jazz Rock, Progressive metal with Djent riffs and polyrhythmic stuff.[4]
