David Efe Egbezomor, better known by his stage name Johncongo, is one of Nigerian best upcoming rappers, and African hip hop recording artists.
Early Life
- David Efe Egbezomor, popularly known as Johncongo, was born in Warri, a popular town in Delta State, Nigeria.
Career
Johncongo released his first single in 2011, titled "I nor dey reason you", a Nigerian Pidgin phrase which means "I don't care about you". The song's instrumental is from Dj Khaled's hit track titled "Go Hard", a street song talking about success, belief and reality. The music was recognized by few, but the rapper believed he could be better. So, later the next year, the Nigerian Emcee released an African hip hop mixtape single with Vicfizzy titled "By my side". The beat was from P-Square's hit track "Asamkpokoto". The music is highly recognized on the internet. The songs were performed by Johncongo and Vicfizzy in small and big shows and they got a great response from their audience. Some months later, Johncongo & Vicfizzy teamed up again, remixing Lil Wayne's song Megaman and renamed the track to '"One way or another"'. The song was mixed by the russian producer Shama One. They had a great response on the song and recognition from all over the world on the internet, with thousands of downloads worldwide. Meanwhile, Johncongo is managing his own record label "S H M G so help me GOD record label" with co-owner German Mudiaga. The label managed rappers like Vicfizzy, Johncongo and German Mudiaga, known as Mudione Or Germountain. In 2012 Johncongo & German Mudiaga brought pennsylvania rapper "Travis Shirk aka His Sculpture" to the S H M G family. [1] Meanwhile, the rapper Johncongo is set to change the world through his music and looks forward to work with a lot of big names in the music industry.

Johncongo grew up listening to different music, so he is influenced from different genres of artists like Lil Wayne, 2 pac, Jay Z, M.I, Fela, lecrae and lot more.
