Johnny Huynh is an American artist recognized as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer.[1] He gained recognize through his work with Columbia Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment, which released his first studio album, Heaven's on Fire, in May 2026.[2]
Early life and education
Huynh grew up in Bothell, Washington, he started studying classical piano at the age of four and later, during middle school, shifted his focus to jazz chord theory and harmonic composition.[3] During high school, he played multiple instruments, earned recognition as a soloist at regional jazz festivals across the Pacific Northwest, and served as both drum major and captain of his school’s marching band.[4] He went on to study at the University of Washington, where he combined his passion for music with a degree in mechanical engineering. After graduating, he chose to focus entirely on a career in music.[5]
Musical career
In 2022, Huynh started gaining public attention in the music scene by posting acoustic vocal covers on digital platforms.[6] His brief, engaging content quickly gained widespread popularity, ultimately resulting in an exclusive worldwide recording deal with Columbia Records.[7]
In June 2024, his musical achievements were highlighted in the context of his move into mainstream pop, coinciding with the final year of his academic studies.[8] Shortly after, he released his debut extended play (EP), All I Saw Was You, which delved into candid themes of romance and included a title track featuring alternative pop artist Jessica Baio.[9]
In late 2025, Huynh revealed his upcoming creative project during a wide-ranging interview where he discussed the cinematic visual vision behind his breakout single, "Lock Me Out".[10] His debut 13-track studio album, Heaven's on Fire, was released by Columbia Records on May 29, 2026.[11] The album blended electronic sounds with his jazz-influenced chord work and featured singles like "Hell On Me", "Bleed My Love", and "Oxygen".[12] After the release, he launched a series of live performances across multiple cities, playing venues such as Barboza in Seattle and the Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles.[13]
