Jon Kemmer (born November 17, 1990) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Generales de Durango of the Mexican League.
Career[edit]
Kemmer played college baseball at Allegany College of Maryland in 2010 and 2011, Clarion University in 2012 and Brewton–Parker College in 2013. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 21st round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft.[1] He signed with the Astros and made his professional debut with the Tri-City ValleyCats, batting .221 with four home runs and 16 RBIs in 65 games.
In 2014, Kemmer played for the Quad Cities River Bandits and Lancaster JetHawks,[2] posting a combined .291 average with 16 home runs and 50 RBIs in 91 games between the two teams. He played 2015 for the Corpus Christi Hooks[3][4] where he hit .327 with 18 home runs and 65 RBIs in 104 games. Kemmer spent 2016 with the Fresno Grizzlies where he hit .265 with 18 home runs and 69 RBIs in 120 games. He returned to Fresno in 2017, where he improved, slashing .299/.399/.533 with 16 home runs and 57 RBIs in 87 games.[5] Kemmer began 2018 with Fresno.
On July 6, 2018, the Astros traded Kemmer to the Minnesota Twins in exchange for cash considerations.[6] He was assigned to the Rochester Red Wings and ended the season there. In 116 games between Fresno and Rochester, he hit .244 with 17 home runs and 62 RBIs.[7] He was released by the Twins organization on March 27, 2019.
On April 9, 2019, Kemmer signed with the Generales de Durango of the Mexican League.
