Plot
Overcome with grief, a divorced neurologist (Koen De Bouw) decides to stay in his deceased son's dorm room. Slowly, he finds solace by immersing himself in his son's world and the student life around him.

Production
Following her award-winning debut film Le passé devant nous, Jonah Was Here is the second feature film by director Nathalie Teirlinck.[1] She co-wrote the screenplay with Angelo Tijssens, with whom she has previously collaborated.
The film is an international co-production, led by the Flemish production company De Wereldvrede in collaboration with Savage Film, Frakas Productions (Wallonia), and the Dutch company Volya Films.[2][3] In late 2024, it was announced that the project received financial support from the Flemish investment fund Screen Flanders.[1]
Filming took place entirely in Flanders. Post-production was handled by the studio Carousel.[4] The original film score was composed by singer-songwriter An Pierlé, the cinematography was handled by Myrthe Mosterman, and Stijn Deconinck served as the editor.
