Jonathan Risbjerg Ægidius (born 22 April 2002) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Danish club Brøndby IF and the Danish under-19 team.[1]
Club career[edit]
Youth[edit]
Ægidius began his youth career at FC Nordsjælland and later moved to Lyngby, playing in their youth department.[2]
Lyngby[edit]
On 11 November 2020, Ægidius made his professional debut in a Danish Cup match against Slagelse. He played 17 minutes in the 9–0 win for Lyngby.[3]
Brøndby[edit]
In January 2021, The Danish youth international put his name on a 4 year contract with Brøndby starting July 2021. He would join as a free agent. Lyngby and FC Copenhagen also showed interest signing him.[4] A week later Lyngby and Brøndby confirmed the imminent transfer of Ægidius between the clubs. [5] Ægidius played the first six months on Brønby's u-19 team. He was promoted to the first team prior to the 2021–22 season.[6]
International career[edit]
Ægidius was 15 years old when he had his international debut in a match against England. He has represented Denmark 20 times at youth levels from under-16 to under-19.[7]
