Early career[edit]
Jonathan Cruz began his piano instruction at the age of four. Three years later, he began studying seriously with Emilio del Rosario at the Music Institute of Chicago. He is an alumni of The Academy of the Music Institute of Chicago while studying under Marta Aznavoorian with the Lincoln Trio.[1] Jonathan Cruz gave his debut performance at the Ravinia Festival at twelve years old making him one of the youngest musicians to perform in the festival's history.[2] In 2013, Jonathan attended The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut.[3] Currently, Jonathan studies under Tian Ying, Santiago Rodriguez, and Naoko Takao.
